Each year, the Waukesha Education Foundation, Inc. honors community members who have made a significant contribution to education in the School District of Waukesha. These individuals/organizations are honored each year at our Evening for Education. As we start 2022, we would like to take a moment each week to honor and highlight the six award winners (three from 2020 and three from 2021) who were honored at our event this past fall.   The Waukesha STEM Academy -Randall Campus, a K-5 charter school in the School District of Waukesha, is nestled in the heart of Waukesha next to Carroll University.  An unfortunate result is a lack of green space on school grounds.  With an increased need to be out in fresh air for mask breaks during the pandemic, staff and students quickly realized the need for a proper place for learning to occur outdoors.   A team of teachers dedicated their time to applying for a Waukesha Education Foundation, Inc. Grant to help make it happen.     Receiving a WEF Grant for an outdoor classroom was an exciting opportunity to provide the students with a suitable place to continue learning outside of the classroom.  Staff were connected to a local carpenter and educator, Scott Boris, who designed and built five high quality 8-foot benches.  The next task was to determine where to create the outdoor classroom...

The Waukesha Education Foundation, Inc. (WEF) is pleased to announce the recipients of the annual Waukesha Education Foundation Awards for both 2020 and 2021. Both groups will be recognized at the 2021 Evening for Education event, being held on October 21 at the Milwaukee Marriott - West (Waukesha).  The recipients of the WEF Corporate Partner Awards are Meijer--Waukesha (2020) and Delzer Lithograph Company (2021)  Meijer joined our Waukesha community in August of 2016.  In just a few short years, Meijer has stepped up as a partner in our community to support our schools and classrooms throughout the district. A dozen nominators shared many examples of Meijer’s generous contributions to our elementary, middle, and high school programs in the School District of Waukesha with gift cards and donated school supplies to athletic and playground equipment and even support after a flood!
