AWARD WINNER SPOTLIGHT - 2020 Community Partner Award - Eras Senior Network

Each year, the Waukesha Education Foundation, Inc. honors community members who have made a significant contribution to education in the School District of Waukesha. These individuals/organizations are honored each year at our Evening for Education. As we start 2022, we would like to take a moment each week to honor and highlight the six award winners (three from 2020 and three from 2021) who were honored at our event this past fall. To learn more about the WEF Awards, visit the Awards tab on our website.

Congratulations to the 2020 WEF Community Partner Award Winner, Eras Senior Network, and specifically, the "RSVP" program. Both Corinn Marich (RSVP Program Manager) & Sandi Ammerman (Associate Director) were honored at the 2021 Evening for Education.

Eras Senior Network‘s Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) has increased intergenerational role modeling and academic support for students within the School District of Waukesha (SDW) since 2007. They have placed an average of 150 volunteers in our schools per year since 2007, for a total of 34,709 hours of volunteer service over the twelve-year partnership. The program started with reading support activities and expanded to include pen pal programs, Intergenerational Heritage Fairs, Readers Cafes, high school history programs, and middle school reading nights. These volunteers in 12 schools and 48 classrooms have helped to support school staff and give desired 1-on-1 attention to support academic success. Learn more about Eras Senior Network and why they were selected by watching their short award intro.
